A Girl is Being Raped and Murdered Right Now
That is right, a girl is being raped and murdered right now as you read this and no one is going to stop it. In fact, this happens to hundreds of women and girls everyday and most of the incidents are never captured in the news. There will be no live coverage, no interviews with the parents, no spot on Nancy Grace.
Why is this? Because this is not a cute little girl that endears the audience to get big TV ratings. In fact, I bet most people will stop reading this as soon as they discover the violations are happening in Africa and other lesser developed countries. In the Darfur region of the Sudan, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, Uganda, and Somalia are the sites of unimaginable human atrocities that are happening every day, often with the authority of the government that should protect them.
How can we complain about our sluggish economy and credit woes while this continues? We are so lucky to live here where freedom is so taken for granted. We worry about fancy cars, clothes, and big screen TVs when so many thousands worry about protecting their families from brutal atrocities.
Do something good today, go to http://www.enoughproject.org/ and help those who really need it, you DO NOT even need to give money. This movement gained momentum with the help of John Prendergast and Don Cheadle. After filming Hotel Rwanda , Don Cheadle became a powerful spokesperson for this movement. He and John Prendergast authored the book Not on Our Watch, a call to stop genocide.
Take a few minutes of your day and do something to help stop genocide and other atrocities. As tough as times may seem to us in the US, priority must be given to the Basic Human Rights. The site allows you easy ways to petition the White House and your Congress Representatives and Senators to take action. It is not just Africa, there are so many areas where Human Right Violations continue unchecked or just plain ignored. See how you can make a difference.

War is the biggest violation of human rights. But war is good for business.
Yes, war is a horror all in itself, but when it is raged on the defenseless like non-combatants to include children, it is evil at its purest. Almost as bad: Those who do nothing while it continues.
